(FixThisNation.com) – On Thursday, Vice President Harris in a video marking the two years from the release of the leaked Supreme Court draft which would overturn Roe v. Wade blasted former President Donald Trump over his role in attacking abortion.
In the video, Harris pointed out that they had learned about the Supreme Court draft decision two years ago. Since then, there have been many states across the country that have put in place extremist laws that criminalized adoption both for women and doctors. As she pointed out many of the laws currently in place did not allow for any exceptions in the cases of incest or rape.
Harris argued that currently, 1 in 3 women of reproductive age are currently living in states where there are abortion bans in place. She continued by noting that this was former President Trump’s action as he had been the one to hand-select the three new United States Supreme Court conservatives at the time. As she pointed out, Trump’s selection had specifically been because he wanted to put in place people who would overturn Roe v. Wade.
Harris in the video warns that Trump who has often spoken proudly about overturning the landmark case is likely to want to sign a national abortion ban. However, the Democrats who are also looking to win a second term have been pushing to codify Roe v. Wade’s abortion protections.
Harris argued that they had trust in women, and women were putting their trust in them to fight for their reproductive freedom.
