(FixThisNation.com) – President Biden and his team are attempting to boost Vice President Kamala Harris ahead of the 2024 presidential election. A recent Washington Post report showed that President Biden is “publicly staging” moments in which Harris can be positioned centrally in an effort to help improve her image ahead of the elections.
One such moment occurred when Harris was “symbolically positioned at the center” between Biden and House Speaker McCarthy in the debt limit negotiations. Anita Dunn, a Biden ally, has been placed in charge of scheduling events and appearances for Harris.
Dunn has instructed the White House teams to arrange events that are addressing abortion and infrastructure spending for Harris to attend. The Post further noted that Harris over the past two years has had many stumbles which is why they are now looking to reform her image ahead of the presidential election.
Joel Goldstein, a professor at the University of St. Louis’ law school, told the Washington Post that it appears that Harris is still defined by “sound bites” and that usually it is not possible for people to create a second first impression, which is why these “sound bites” are likely to continue defining her.
Harris has received a lot of criticism throughout her time in office by Democrats who have claimed that she lacks “basic political skills.” However, former Cobb County Democrats Chair Jacquelyn Bettadapur, a Harris supporter, told the Post that people have readily attacked her over anything and that she is never getting the benefit of the doubt which is not helping with her reputation.
