(FixThisNation.com) – CNN anchor Don Lemon has been benched temporarily over his recent comments regarding 2024 GOP presidential candidate Nikki Haley.
Recently many have been calling for Lemon to be fired following his demeaning and sexist comments. According to a CNN insider following the backlash Lemon was taken out of Monday’s “CNN This Morning” on-air lineup. They further added to Fox News Digital that lemon is “taking the holiday” and that there is currently no set date for his return. He noted that his return to the show was contingent on “where his head is at.”
According to the Daily Beast report on Lemon’s absence, a source familiar with the case has said that there are currently discussions about Don’s future in the network. The source also called Lemon “a constant distraction.”
On Friday Lemon also issued an apology about the ageist and sexist comments he made, including calling Haley past her “prime” following her announcement that she would be running for the White House in 2024.
CNN CEO Chris Licht condemned Lemon’s comment stating it was “upsetting, unacceptable and unfair” and a “huge distraction.”
Lemon’s remarks came in response to Haley’s call for all politicians over the age of 75 to have to undergo mandatory mental competency tests. In response, Lemon said that according to google Haley would have a tough battle ahead of her “since women are only in their prime during their “20s, 30s and 40s.”
This comment was met with increased backlash.
