(FixThisNation.com) – The House GOP issued a subpoena for AT&T requesting Hunter Biden’s phone records for 15 years.
On Tuesday, the Democrats revealed this latest development, after the Republican lawmakers continued moving forward with the impeachment inquiry into President Biden, despite the fact that his son had testified about his father not having been a part of his business activities.
Last week the lawmakers had issued the subpoena which had first been disclosed in a democratic memo. In the subpoena, AT&T is requested to provide information that relates to the communication records, account information, and payment history of any accounts that are connected to Hunter Biden. This subpoena is part of the impeachment inquiry launched by the Republican party into President Biden.
House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-Ky.) has already claimed that the records were “probative” of any communication between Hunter Biden’s business associates and President Joe Biden. This would include information on whether or not Hunter Biden had been in communication during important parts of his business deals, or if President Biden had spoken to other Executive Branch officials during that period.
Comer has argued that the subpoena records would help the Committee determine if President Biden had abused his previous office in order to receive payment in exchange for access or official acts. This is an important aspect of the impeachment inquiry.
The latest subpoena has come after an arrest by the FBI of a former informant who has been charged with lying to the agency regarding President Biden accepting bribes.
