(FixThisNation.com) – GOP presidential candidate Nikki Haley has cautioned that the Republican National Committee (RNC) was being used by former President Donald Trump in order to cover his legal fees. She also argued that if Trump was elected in the White House this would continue being the case.

On Friday evening, during an interview with CNN’s Kaitlan Collins, Haley argued that the biggest issue was that she did not want the RNC to turn into Trump’s legal defense fund. She argued that it should not turn to Trump’s personal “piggy bank.”

These remarks from Haley came only hours after a New York judge had ordered that Trump be required to pay over $355 million for fraud after he repeatedly inflated and deflated the worth of his assets to receive more beneficial insurance and taxation deals.

Only weeks before this decision a different judge had determined that Trump was required to pay $83.3 million for having defamed columnist E. Jean Carroll who brought forward sexual abuse allegations against Trump.

Last month the federal election filings released showed that Trump’s fundraising committees had spent close to $30 million in order to cover his legal fees for the second half of 2023.

Haley, who is the only Republican candidate left against the former president, has argued that Trump was trying to get the RNC under his control to have them pay for his legal fees. She continued by arguing that the RNC needed to be focusing on winning the Congress elections and not on supporting Trump and paying his different legal fees.
