(FixThisNation.com) – On Monday, Alan Dershowitz, a law professor and former Trump attorney, denounced special counsel Robert Hur’s report on the mishandling of classified documents arguing that it was “unfair to both sides.”

While in his report Hur claimed that he would not be filing any charges against Biden, he also included a less than pleasant assessment of the President’s cognitive abilities and age. Hur argued that during the interviews Biden had appeared to be a “well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.”

In a Fox News interview, Dershowitz, who had acted as former President Donald Trump’s representative during his first impeachment trial, argued that the report was a “disaster.” He proceeded to claim that Hur should have determined that Biden was criminally liable for having withheld classified documents and even drew a comparison between Biden’s and Trump’s case. However, Dershowitz proceeded to defend Biden against the assessment of his memory.

During the interview, he pointed out that this report was going to make them think a lot about the role of the special counsel, and how Hur had been wrong in all of the actions he took, including not charging Biden. He added that it is wrong that Trump’s case was not dismissed, and that it was also incorrect for a special counsel to be making medical assessments that could end up having a political impact.

However, many legal observers have argued that the classified documents cases are different, in part because Trump had refused to return the documents even after being repeatedly asked to do so.
