(FixThisNation.com) – Former President Trump stated that it was “highly unlikely” that he would have Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) serve in a potential second Trump administration, despite DeSantis recently suspending his presidential campaign and endorsing Trump.

Trump who is leading the presidential race told “Fox & Friends’ ‘ that the rivalry between him and DeSantis was put aside, however, he downplayed the possibility of DeSantis being included in a second Trump White House. He added that while everything is possible, this was something he believed to be highly unlikely. As he said he had many great people who had been on his side since the start.

Trump also pointed out that as of right now DeSantis had not requested a position in his second administration, and that he was set to serve as the Florida governor through 2026.

On Sunday, DeSantis suspended his 2024 campaign after he had ended up in second place in the Iowa caucuses despite the time and resources he had spent in the area. However, despite all his efforts DeSantis was only polling in single digits in New Hampshire ahead of the first-in-the-nation primary on Tuesday. He cited all of this as evidence that there was no path for him toward victory.

Following the suspension of his campaign DeSantis had ended up endorsing Trump who for months had attacked him on a personal level and had even claimed that the governor was disloyal.

Trump told Fox News before that he had endorsed DeSantis and that this had been what allowed DeSantis to win the race even though before the endorsement he had been completely out of the race.
