(FixThisNation.com) – On Saturday, former President Trump praised Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) for pushing for an impromptu exchange with President Joe Biden focused on Laken Riley before the State of the Union address.
Trump had invited during his rally in Rome, Ga., Greene’s district, the parents of Riley, 22 a college student who was recently found dead on campus. Trump’s rally took place only a two-hour drive away from the University of Georgia campus in Athens, Ga., where the student had been found murdered on Feb. 22.
Jose Ibarra, a Venezuelan migrant who entered the country illegally in 2022, has been arrested by authorities as the primary suspect in this case. Trump took the opportunity during his rally to blast Biden on the immigration policies he has followed, while also praising Greene for having the “courage” to speak up during Thursday’s State of the Union address.
As he argued during the rally Marjorie was “very brave” in trying to bring up this point, and it was not easy for someone to stand up and do what she had done.
Biden had used the State of the Union address to refer to the bipartisan border security bill that had been tanked because of Trump’s opposition. Greene, who is one of Trump’s biggest allies in Congress, yelled out during the address “Laken Riley.” This caused the President to interrupt the address, pull out a pin that had the woman’s name, and offer his condolences to her parents.
