(FixThisNation.com) – New York Attorney General Letitia James’ office filed judgments in Westchester County on March 6. Former President Donald Trump owns a couple of properties in the country including a private estate and a golf resort. This is viewed as the first step towards seizing Trump’s assets following the ruling in the civil fraud trial by Judge Arthur Engoron.

Engoron in his ruling determined that Trump, his two adult sons, and the Trump Organization were liable for having conspired to change the value of assets to receive more favorable insurance and tax terms. Engoron had ordered that they pay $464 million as well as interest.

Trump has only four days left to find the necessary cash to post the $454 million fine. If he fails to do so it could open up the way for James to start seizing some of his assets.

If Trump manages to post the bond, then there will be an automatic pause to the ruling while Trump will start the appeal process. James has argued that if Trump did not have the necessary funds in order to pay off the judgment then her office was going to consider the court’s other judgment enforcement mechanisms.

To start the potential process of seizing these properties, entering judgment in the counties in which Trump owns properties is essential.

In New York City, where the original trial had taken place, judgment has been entered already. Trump’s famous Trump Tower and 40 Wall Street are both located there.

On Monday Trump’s lawyers admitted that they had not been able to secure the bond and have instead been pushing for the court to accept a $100 million bond instead.
