(FixThisNation.com) – ABC’s “The View” co-host Joy Behar in a recent segment on the Wednesday show criticized Gov. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., and stated that she wanted former President Donald Trump to win the GOP primary so that the Democrats could win the general election in 2024.
During the segment, the women were discussing politics and the possibility that DeSantis might win the GOP nomination in 2024. While DeSantis has not yet announced his intentions for 2024 it is widely suspected that he is planning on joining the race in late May or early June. However, despite DeSantis’ popularity increasing following the 2022 midterm elections, Behar dubbed him a “dweeb” and stated that in order for the Democrats to win, Trump would need to be the Republican nominee. Behar proceeded to joke that Trump was a “two-time loser already. Hellooooo! Loser!” and even made an L-sign on her forehead.
However, Alyssa Farah Griffin argued that that could potentially be a risk. A recent Fox News Poll showed that Trump is leading the race against DeSantis for the primary by double digits. According to the poll, there has also been an 11 percent increase in support for Trump in the last month.
Many members of the panel also agreed that DeSantis did not have the stamina required to beat Trump in the GOP primary. Griffin argued that as she has been claiming for months, DeSantis is “the most over-hyped politician in America.” She proceeded to argue that the idea that he would also save the GOP from Trump was also over-hyped.
